People People People People People Building

September 23 - October 26, 2018

The place I thought I’d see a snake and then decided to turn around. Everything was my enemy. My peripheral vision was never my friend. A bark became a rabbit and the birds were scared of me!

The view inside a window and outside the window, there are two views. We look up and look down. Downtown uptown sixth floor walk up six foot under snake with no feet. I stopped because I thought a snake was there so I walked the other way. We were both turning left.

There are four walls, more but I’m trying to describe a room. Warmth from the sun comes in through the window behind the curtains. There’s a brown rug under the red couch. I’m thinking fall, I’m thinking autumnal, I’m thinking a synonym for synchronicity. We’re missing the breeze from the window because we are inside and the window is closed. We open the window and we look down and out. There you are! Not only the breeze, but also you, the person.

You were walking around and waiting like you usually do. Coffee in hand that’s cold now because it was already your second and you just didn’t know what else to do during the many hours you had today to spend aimless. You didn’t throw away the coffee, “Just incase...” “Just incase”…what?  You wanted another cold sip? An added hunger suppressor or anxiety builder? You said you wanted to “look busy”. Looking busy to you means only having one hand free as you juggle the rest of your things. There you were, coffee cup in left hand, bags on shoulders, book under arm, shoe untied, sweatshirt wrapped around neck because it got too hot out and you had no more room to fit it in your bags. You balanced all of this while you held onto the subway pole with your free right hand, riding from one stop to the next all day for no reason.
